The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) finished its second online course with the PFL Referees Refresher Course 2020 for Visayas and Mindanao held last 28-30 August 2020.
18 PFF Referees and Assistant Referees and 5 PFF Referee Assessors from Visayas and Mindanao attended the online course for match officials eligible to officiate the Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways (PFL) matches. The instructors for the course were PFF Referees Department Head Mr. Edwin Alobin and Mr. Allan Martinez.
Refereeing topics discussed include the Laws of the Game (LOTG) 2020/2021, Penalty Area Incidents, Challenges, Tactical Fouls, Offside, Handball situations, and Positioning & Reading in preparation for the start of the PFL Season 2020.
Participants were also broken into groups to discuss situational videos of each topic and present their findings to the instructors.
“The development of our match officials is pertinent to the growth of the professional league,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “We thank the participants who attended the course which will benefit them on the eventual return of football in the country.”
