The Philippine Men’s National Team return to competitive action for the three FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 / AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 matches which will be held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates..
The Philippines currently sit in third place and will face China PR, Guam, and the Maldives beginning Monday 07 June 2021 at Sharjah Stadium.

The Group A matches were initially set to be played in Suzhou, China PR, but was decided by AFC to move the match venue to Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Twenty-one (21) players were called up for the competition. Leading the team is captain Stephan Schrock. Among the new players in the squad are: Oliver Bias, Bernd Schipmann, Jefferson Tabinas, and Michael Kempter.
Prior to the journey to the United Arab Emirates, the Azkals held a two-week training camp in Doha, Qatar hosted by the Qatar Football Association to prepare for the competition.
