Programs and Projects

GRASSROOTS

Football Starts At Home

Based on the innovative approach conceptualized by international youth coach Tom Byer, this development program for parents and their children (ages 3-6 years old) improves a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills through ball mastery exercises disguised as play. A holistic approach that establishes the foundation for nation- building for a lifetime of physical, mental, and emotional well-being for the youngest members of our community.

FIFA Football for Schools

The FIFA Football for Schools provides football training and sport for development program to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Designed by FIFA and UNESCO, the program equips the Department of Education (DepED) teachers with clinics, workshops, a Training App and 110,000 footballs directly benefitting public schools all over the Philippines

Festivals of Football (FOF)

A series of football festivals for boys and girls ages 14 & under and 12 & under, bringing together top teams from schools and clubs. Additionally, the FOF functions as a scouting platform for identifying talents for the Centers of Excellence program.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Centers of Excellence (COE)
This is the cornerstone of the PFF’s Youth Development Program. The Centers of Excellence provide a nurturing environment for talented young footballers. The program will train elite players aged 16 and under and 14 under, serving as a platform to help children pursue their dreams of playing professional football, including representing the Philippine National Team.

National Talent Identification
To “cast a wider net” and discover the best talents, an expert from the federation scouts for outstanding players at school leagues, weekend tournaments and competitions throughout the Philippines. The identified players will comprise a pool and their information will be compiled in a data bank; whenever there are tryouts, these players will be invited to take part.

Regional Football Association (RFA) Youth Competitions
Competitions among the teams representing the various regional football associations aim to provide the amateur players with more matches, rally the communities to support these talented young men and women, give professional opportunities for local organizing committees (LOCs), identify talent for the national teams, and overall, boost the popularity of the sport nationwide.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIONS

Philippines Football League (PFL)
The PFL is the country’s men’s professional football league where clubs vie for the championship spot and the distinction of representing the Philippines in the AFC club competitions.

PFF Women’s League
This is the top-flight women’s association football competition in the country featuring teams from clubs and schools. The champion goes to represent the Philippines in the AFC women’s club competitions. Dubbed as the “ultimate women’s football showdown,” the PFF Women’s League is one of PFF’s major women’s football programs.

PROFESSIONAL development

Professional Development (Coaches and Referees Education)
Coaches in football, futsal and beach soccer obtain licenses (from grassroots to advanced) through coaching courses taught by PFF’s instructors in cooperation with the regional football associations. Likewise, educators and enthusiasts become bona fide referees through the courses conducted by the experts from the PFF Referees Department. The PFF is collaborating with schools and universities so that these coaching and refereeing courses can be integrated in college curriculums.

Stakeholder engagement

The PFF facilitates endeavors to bring the beautiful game closer to the people. Examples of these include government and corporate partnerships, merchandise tie-ups, Fan Zones at local matches of the senior teams, media conferences, and more.

regional football associations (RFA) empowerment

PFF works closely with the Regional Football Associations in the hosting of courses, organizing Festivals of Football, running the grassroots initiatives, identifying outstanding talent, linking with local governments, building infrastructure such as pitches, or essentially implementing all the development programs. The PFF encourages, empowers the RFAs to make football/futsal/beach soccer thrive in their respective areas.

infrastructure

Through the support of FIFA, AFC and AFF, the PFF targets that every RFA will have its own (half) pitch with changing rooms and comfort rooms, spectator area, and an office for the RFA.
