PSC Chair Patrick “Pato” Gregorio’s move to designate the Philsports Arena as the Philippines’ House of Futsal as legacy to the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup has paved the way for the birth of the PFF Futsaliga, one of the largest domestic futsal tournaments in the country, gathering more than 500 players from 32 clubs competing across four divisions.
The transformation of Philsports into a year-round futsal venue created the national platform needed for a competition of this scale to take root.
With this, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) expressed its deep gratitude to Chairman Gregorio and PSC for making this national initiative possible. The PSC’s stewardship of the Philsports Arena—the same venue that hosted the world’s first FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup—ensured that its legacy would continue beyond global competition and flow directly into grassroots and elite futsal development.
PFF President John Anthony Gutierrez underscored this impact:
Our immense thanks to PSC Chair Pato Gregorio for his tremendous support of Philippine futsal. By hosting the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 in Philsports Arena, and now pioneering the PFF Futsaliga, PSC and PFF are turning global momentum into an opportunity for futsal players from the grassroots to experience playing in a world-class venue and a professional atmosphere.
“Chairman Pato’s vision of transforming a world-stage venue into the homecourt for grassroots and elite futsal is a game-changer. Here in the House of Futsal, future national team futsal stars will be molded beginning on this national platform built for them,” Gutierrez added
With the PFF Futsaliga now running every weekend, Philsports Arena has once again come alive, echoing with fast-paced play, competitive atmosphere, and the excitement of young athletes performing on a world-class hardcourt.
Looking ahead, PFF announced plans that will further strengthen the House of Futsal’s role in national development. After the opening tournament of Futsaliga season concludes, the Federation will launch a semi-professional Futsaliga edition at Philsports aimed at establishing a regular professional futsal league. At the grassroots level, PFF will also stage multiple PFF Futsaliga editions across Regional Football Associations (RFAs), expanding futsal access and talent pathways nationwide.
Fans may watch the PFF Futsaliga for free at the Philsports Arena every weekend from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM: Saturdays for the U17 girls and boys, and Sundays for the women’s and men’s open divisions.
