The race for semifinal berths reached a fever pitch as Matchday 6 of the PFF Futsaliga presented by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) unfolded last April 19 at the Philsports Arena, with teams across the women’s and men’s divisions delivering statement performances inside the country’s House of Futsal.
With only one matchday left in the elimination round, the stakes have never been higher. The continued support of PSC has been pivotal in sustaining the league’s high level of competition, providing a world-class platform for players to showcase their talent while strengthening the country’s futsal ecosystem, from grassroots to elite levels.
Women’s Division: FEU, Beach Hut secure semis as battle for remaining slots intensifies
The University of Makati (UMak) opened the matchday with a resounding 12–1 victory over Forza FC, signaling their late surge toward semifinal contention. The Herons displayed relentless attacking form, with Taif Salama leading the charge through a five-goal performance to earn her third Bootcamp Player of the Match award and propel UMak firmly into the race for a Final Four spot.
In a highly anticipated showdown, the Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws and Beach Hut FC played to a 0–0 draw, showcasing defensive discipline and tactical awareness from both sides. Tenelyn Otom stood out as an impenetrable force at the back for Beach Hut, earning Player of the Match honors after neutralizing FEU’s potent attacks. Despite the stalemate, both teams have secured their places in the Cup semifinals, maintaining their unbeaten records.

Azzurri SC finally broke through with a crucial 4–3 win over the Philippine Women’s University (PWU), thanks to a late-game surge. Stephanie Braga delivered a hat trick, while Bianca Sy added a vital goal in the closing minutes to secure their second win of the tournament.
The Azkals Development Club (ADC) further strengthened its semifinal bid with a 4–2 victory over Enderun College. ADC set the tone early, with Caitlin Panilan scoring twice within the opening five minutes to establish control.
The result keeps ADC in strong contention, alongside Enderun and UMak, for the remaining two semifinal slots, but head coach Segundo Saluria, Jr. cautioned, “need talaga namin must win, kasi ang standing namin ngayon isn’t safe, may matalo na isa, laglag.”
FEU and Beach Hut have secured their semifinal berths, while UMak’s dominant win injects them firmly into the race. ADC and Enderun are also in a tight battle for the final spots, setting up a dramatic conclusion to the elimination round.
Men’s Division: ADC stands tall, UA&P and Tondo surge in tight standings race
In the Men’s Division, the University of Makati claimed its first win of the tournament with a convincing 6–1 victory over Sporting QC. A well-balanced team effort defined UMak’s performance, with Dyn Rebosura leading the attack and earning Player of the Match honors.
“Kinompose namin ang sarili namin, more on passing, more on communication. Nag-improve kami as a team, as one,” Rebosura said.
In addition, Rebosura, a transwoman praised her team, the league, and PSC for providing a safe space for LGBT athletes on the Futsaliga stage, saying, “tinitignan talaga kung ano ang skills mo, ano ang contribution mo… ito ang magiging start na hindi lang pala straight ang pwedeng maglaro ng futsal. Ang maganda sa PFF at PSC, di nila jinudge ang gender ko para maging Player of the Match.”
The rivalry clash between the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and Enderun College delivered one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament. In a high-scoring affair, UA&P emerged victorious, 6–4, with captain James Benedict Rufin and Vonn Mirabueno netting the decisive goals in the final minutes. The win proved crucial as UA&P strengthened its position in the top four heading into the final matchday.
ADC reaffirmed their dominance with a hard-fought 3–2 win over the previously unbeaten Philippine Women’s University (PWU). ADC capitalized on a strong first-half performance, with Kenzo Chua leading the charge and earning Player of the Match honors. The victory solidified ADC’s status as the only undefeated team in the division.

Tondo FC kept its semifinal hopes alive with a commanding 7–3 win over the PUP Radicals in their Manila derby. MJ Libre continued his remarkable scoring form, delivering a hat trick to secure Tondo’s second straight win and keep the team firmly in contention heading into the final matchday.
ADC remains the lone unbeaten team, asserting its Cup bid despite a fierce challenge from PWU. UA&P’s clutch victory over Enderun elevates them into a crucial position in the standings, while Tondo FC’s resurgence ensures a dramatic fight for the final semis slots.
As the PFF Futsaliga approaches its final elimination matchday, the energy inside the Philsports Arena continues to build.
