AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers draw ceremony postponed

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced that the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 draw, scheduled for 27 May 2022, is postponed until further notice.

The postponement was due to the rising COVID-19 cases in India as well as across the continent taking into consideration the safety of all teams, players, officials, and other stakeholders. The qualifiers is scheduled for 13-25 September 2021 and is the first step in the road to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

The Philippines is seeded in Pot 1 for the draw owing to the country’s sixth placed finish in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018.

AFC will make the announcement on the new schedule for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 qualifiers draw in due course.

Meanwhile, AFC announced that the draw ceremony for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2022 qualifiers and the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2022 qualifiers will push through on 27 May 2022. The Philippines is in Pot 4 for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers draw and Pot 2 for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian cup qualifiers draw.
