First Football Coaches Conference to be Held December 1-3

The Philippine Football Federation, in cooperation with the MVP Sports Foundation, will host the first Football Coaches Conference this  1-3 December at the University of Asia and the Pacific in Pasig City.

This is the first time that PFF will hold a conference with active football coaches across the country as attendees.

“One of the aims of this Football Coaches Conference is to help Filipino coaches understand the current trends in club, youth, women’s, and grassroots coaching by listening to experts in the field, both foreign and local, and be apprised of the best practices in the region and in the world,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “There are many aspiring coaches in the country and we hope that they can learn from these experts and apply what they will learn.”

Top level coaches such as AFC Deputy Technical Director Wim Koevermans, Football Federation Australia (FFA) Technical Director Eric Abrams, Vietnam Under-19 Head Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, Japan FA Coach Education Director Noriyuki Kawamata, Japan FA Academy Coach Miho Sakao, PFF Technical Director Marlon Maro, PFF Coaching Education Head Jose Ariston Caslib, Philippine National Team head coaches Thomas Dooley (Men’s), Letecia Bautista (Women’s), Marnelli Dimzon (Women’s SEA Games 2017), and PFF Head of Grassroots Aquilino Pastoral III will deliver presentations during the conference.

The topics for Day 1 will be the updates regarding National Team’s current setup and the best practices used by Vietnam during the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Day 2 will discuss the development of youth players coupled with a general discussion regarding the grassroots and youth teams of the Philippines.

The final day of the conference will focus on the the development of Women’s football and the continuing education plan for AFC and PFF licensed coaches.

PFF has invited all AFC and PFF Coaching Certificate holders to attend the conference as part of their continuing coaching education.
