Head of Accomodation

Overview:

Ensures appropriate accommodation and hotel office facilities for all FIFA target groups at tournaments and events.

Implements smooth accommodation and hotel office operations, provides final invoicing and debriefs for all selected hotels.

Defines the business process, establishes the necessary tools, such as concepts, budgets, project plan, communication model and business workflow for the Accommodation project at all FIFA tournaments and events.

Contributes to a smooth communication flow with the different target groups, relevant FIFA Divisions, Guest Services, Event Transport and all other depending departments and the hotels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes concepts and budgets for the FIFA Accommodation Department and for the accommodation needs for any FIFA event.
  • Prepares the necessary supervision tools for operational cost effective and beneficial revenue flow to FIFA out of accommodation management
  • Prepares and leads the tenders together with FIFA Legal and Procurement and supervises the appointed FIFA service agencies
  • Supervises the contract management and sales process
  • Negotiates the conditions/inventory including the related services
  • Harmonise sand adjusts the accommodation project with depending projects in terms of responsibilities and timeline.
  • Manages and monitors the relationship with any accommodation suppliers, ensures accurate briefing and oversees hotel contracting.
  • Allocates rooms to FIFA target groups, according to established hierarchy in close cooperation with accommodation suppliers.
  • Coordinates the implementation of all relevant areas, such as IT, sponsor products, dressing, signage and any event logistics to set-up specified FIFA Hotels.
  • Ensures the level and quantity of services based on definition of needs through target group analysis and controlling the delivered level of services.
  • Defines and overlooks the processes concerning booking of services and rooms, including development of internal software; audits the implementation and servicing.
  • Establishes an information system towards dependent project groups and clients.
  • Creates, co-ordinates and updates the reservation list of accommodation and hotel office facilities for relevant FIFA Divisions;
  • Ensures agreed accommodation budgets for FIFA needs in terms of accommodation as well as the costs related to the accommodation suppliers (if any)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum experience of 8 years accommodation management
  • University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education)
  • Experience in international sports / event management
  • Knowledge of even planning and event project management processes
  • Experience or knowledge of local culture will be an added benefit
  • Strong IT skill including MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and other languages are an added benefit
  • Team Player, willing to work to tight timelines
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events.
  • Minimum of 6 years managing teams within the accommodation management business area
  • Proven management experience of complex projects
  • Specialised qualifications within accommodation management
