Head of Finance

Overview:

The Head of Finance provides strategic financial input and takes a pro-active role to drive financial decision-making that affects the success of FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025. Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior management of all divisions so as to identify their needs and seek full range of solutions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 LOC in the establishment of their budget and forecasts. Challenge their assumptions on recurring and ad-hoc basis.
  • Ensures that budgets prepared FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 LOC are fulfilling FIFA requirements.
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive effective financial reporting for the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 LOC in close collaboration with FIFA Finance. Ensure accuracy of data for all actuals relating to FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025.
  • Reviewing the main FWC-related cost contracts.
  • Drive change to continuously improve the organisation in financial aspects as listed herein involving the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 LOC. Ensures timely coordination and resolutions of ad-hoc financial aspects. This in particular involves to be the first point of contact for the T&E division, FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 LOC, FIFA Finance and other internal stakeholders for finance related questions.
  • Reports on regulatory and tax requirements locally and internationally if applicable, coordinates resolution of the same with the relevant Finance functions within FIFA and external.
  • Reports and coordinates insurance related requirements with the relevant persons in house.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum experience of 8 years in a financial function of an event organisation (organising major sport events or other similar projects; preferably a world class football event)
  • University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education)
  • Experience in international sports / event management
  • Knowledge of even planning and event project management processes
  • Experience or knowledge of local culture will be an added benefit
  • Strong IT skill including MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and other languages are an added benefit
  • Team Player, willing to work to tight timelines
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events.
  • Minimum of 6 years managing teams within the finance business area
  • Proven management experience of complex projects
  • Specialised qualifications within the finance business area
