Kaya win fourth straight; Nomads-UST battle to a stalemate

Philippine Women’s National Team defender and co-captain Hali Long and goalkeeper Inna Palacios made their return in the PFF Women’s League sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines and saw their club Kaya FC-Iloilo collect their fourth straight win after a 4-0 victory over Tuloy FC last Sunday at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

While the Filipinas pair made their return in the starting lineup, it was their four-man front-line of Shelah Cadag, Irish Navaja, Camille Rodriguez, and Hazel Lustan that led Kaya to victory.

Cadag opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and followed up by Navaja three minutes before the end of the first half. Rodriguez and Lustan added the cherries on top in the 84th and 89th minutes to give Kaya the three points and go level with leaders Manila Digger FC with 15 points.

Manila Nomads FC banked on a late Stacey Arthur equalizer to draw University of Santo Tomas, 1-1 in the other match.

Stephanie Logastua handed UST the lead in the 28th minute, but their hopes for a second win in the league fell short when Arthur equalized in the second minute of second half stoppage time.
