PFF all women’s tilt in full swing

The 1st PFF Women’s Cup 2014 is now in full swing after ten all-women teams have played eight matches at the Nicanor Reyes football field in FEU-Diliman.

This tournament adopts a modified 9-a-side format with two 25-minutes halves in regulation time. Designed to cater to the development of budding women’s teams in the country, this single round robin league will run until July.

The UAAP teams continued to dominate the league as the The UST Lady Booters registered their second win with an 8-1 thrashing of neophytes CSB. Princess Kate Aguilar scored a brace on the 16th and 32nd minutes, while teammates Hazel Lustan, Diane Jazul, Jan Cleofe, Nina Acuna, Jennizel Cabalan and Pearl Aguilar each put one in. February Saluria managed to put CSB on the scoreboard on the 52nd minute.

The Ateneo Women’s Football Team edged Loyola FC 2-0 in their debut match with goals from veterans Leah Cruz and Camille Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, in the battle of club teams, Chelsea FC and Sikat FC also garnered wins over GAU FC (1-0) and neophytes Mendiola FC (2-0) respectively.
