PFF Celebrates International Women’s Day

The Philippine Football Federation joins the world in celebrating the International Women’s Day today 8 March 2018.

The day also marks the AFC Women’s Football Day with various events promoting Women’s football happening all over Asia today.

Last year was a landmark moment in Women’s football for the Philippines. The Philippine Women’s National Team made history by qualifying for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018. The same can be said for the Philippine Girls Under-15 team after their silver medal finish in the AFF Girls Under-15 Championship.

The PFF wishes the Women’s National Team to make their mark in the Women’s Asian Cup which begins on 6 April 2018 in Amman, Jordan.

“Women’s football has made huge strides last year,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “The success of Women’s football in the country will contribute to the continuous development of Philippine football.”

“We hail the successes of our Women athletes,” said PFF president Mariano Araneta. “The continuous participation of Women in sporting activities has increased and their passion has been unwavering.”
