The Philippines Football League matches saw the PFF referees get to utilize the Vokkero Elite Radio Communication System for the very first time.
Procured in late 2022, the Vokkero Radio Communication System allows match officials to communicate in real time in order to provide timely decisions during a match.
This was implemented during the league matches between the Azkals Development Team and Dynamic Herb Cebu FC last Saturday and the Stallion Laguna vs. Kaya FC-Iloilo last 11 and 12 March 2023.
Among the referees to have used the communications system were FIFA Referee Clifford Daypuyat and FIFA Assistant Referee Krizmark Nañola.
“Communication devices provides a lot of advantages for the referees particularly in decision making,” said Daypuyat. “It also boosts our confidence, communication made easy unlike before that we need to approach other referees to convey our opinion or decision. Overall, we really appreciate the support of the PFF and looking forward on future games.”
“Using the Communication set is a big help for the referees team especially in difficult situations,” added Nañola. “It lessens the mistake and gives more confidence to the referee team.”
