Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways (PFL) clubs Ceres-Negros FC and Kaya FC-Iloilo are set to return to continental action when the AFC Cup 2020 Group Stages resumes on 23-29 September 2020.
The two PFL clubs have already played their first three matches of the group stages before the COVID-19 pandemic forced a temporary stop to the competition.
Ceres-Negros, whose request to PFF to change their club name to United City FC is under process, are undefeated in Group G with 7 points (2 wins and 1 draw). Spanish striker Bienvenido Marañon is the tournament’s top scorer with 5 goals. Their last match was a comprehensive 4-0 win over Indonesian side Bali United last March 2020 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
Kaya FC-Iloilo, on the other hand, sit second place in Group H with 5 points (1 win and 2 draws). They played a 1-1 draw against Indonesian team PSM Makasaar last March 2020 at the Madya Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. Eric Giganto is Kaya’s current top scorer with 2 goals to his name.
Both teams will play their remaining group stage fixtures in a centralised venue. Ceres-Negros’ Group G fixtures will be played at the Cam Pha Stadium in Quang Ninh, Vietnam while the venue for Kaya FC-Iloilo’s Group H matches is being finalised by AFC.

The top team from each group, along with the best second placed team among the teams in the ASEAN Zone will advance to the knockout stage. The draw for the knockout stages will be held on 27 August 2020 at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
