Philippine Girls Team pulls first win in AFC U14 Girls Regional Championship

The Philippines’ U14 Girls Team yesterday claimed their first win in their bid for the AFC U14 Girls Regional Championship for the Asean zone as they prevailed over Singapore 3-1. Coming from a 0-3 upset against Vietnam on their first match day last Tuesday, June 22, the young female squad was able to recover from their loss to pick-up much needed momentum for the tournament.

Singapore opened the 1st goal of the match on the 9th minute but the Philippines responded with an equalizer from Midfielder Andrea Tiongson on the 14th minute. This was followed by another goal by Midfielder Regine Rebosura on the 41st minute. The final goal came from forward Catherine Pardilla on the 55th minute.

The Philippines will play against Malaysia on Thursday, June 25 at 4pm.
