Two for Three: Cebu, Stallion claim famous points in AFC Cup

Dynamic Herb Cebu FC and Stallion Laguna FC collected historic points in their recent AFC Cup campaign over the past few days.

Cebu notched their first ever AFC Cup win after a 1-0 win over Shan United of Myanmar last Thursday 26 October 2023 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Ken Murayama slotted the winning goal in the 29th minute to give Cebu its first three points of the competition.

Meanwhile in Malaysia, Stallion Laguna FC drew Terengganu of Malaysia, 2-2 in their Group G encounter.

Finn McDaniel and Junior Sam shocked the Malaysians by scoring in the seventh and 41st minutes as Stallion went to a 2-0 lead right before halftime.

However, Terengganu drew level by scoring in the 45th and 90th minutes to share the points between the two sides.

Over in the AFC Champions League, Kaya FC-Iloilo yielded to Yokohama F Marinos of Japan, 0-3, in their Group G encounter at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan.

Daizo Horikoshi, Javier Gayoso, and Ricardo Sendra went close in causing an upset against the J League winners.

All three teams return to the domestic front as they compete in the Copa Paulino Alcantara 2023 semi-final second leg on 03 November, before embarking another run in their respective AFC club competitions.
