The University of the Philippines and the Ateneo De Manila University won their respective matches convincingly on the penultimate day of the PFF Women’s League on November 10 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
The Lady Maroons finally got their first win on their final match of the season after routing De La Salle Zobel, 5-1.
Isabella Dumada-og led UP with a first-half brace, finding the net in the 30th and the 38th minute respectively.
Mary Rose Obra, Andrea Monilla and Sofia Dungca scored a goal each for the Lady Maroons a minute between each other to virtually seal the win for a 5-0 halftime lead.
Marinelle Cristobal scored the consolation goal in the 65th minute for the Junior Lady Archers.
In the other match, Ateneo displayed its might to dispatch Green Archers United FC 8-0 to finish their season with 13 points, good for fifth place momentarily.
Ann Catherine Cabrera led the Lady Eagles with a hat-trick, the first of her goals came in the 24th minute, when her free kick hit the crossbar and went inside the goal line.
Two minutes later, Martina Therese Roxas doubled the Lady Eagles’ lead on an open play, and then got her brace right at the stroke of half-time for a 3-0 lead at the break.
Cabrera then took over in the second half, bagging a brace in the 52nd minute on her second effort, then followed it with a penalty kick in the 59th minute.
Ateneo added two more goals in the final 15 minutes, with Joannah Marie Adao and substitute Bea Velasco found the net in the 77th and 79th minute respectively.
Fellow substitute Jill Panganiban put the finishing touches with a shot inside the box in the 86th minute.
