Communications Director

Overview:

The Communications Director is responsible to lead and manage the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 Communications sub-division. The Communications Director has the overall responsibility for the successful implementation of all FIFA’s corporate informational programmes/campaigns/activities/material for defined target groups and stakeholders; using FIFA events (tournaments, events, happenings) and external events (seminars, fairs, exhibitions, etc.) as platforms for communication and messaging

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification of key players within all relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions and creation of a network of persons who can advocate FIFA’s position in all sport and FIFA related matters.
  • Contribute in the dissemination of factual information on FIFA’s policies to relevant stakeholders and improve knowledge on FIFA’s competence/role/ initiatives and seek for potential synergies/common positions with other sports organisations on issues of common interest
  • The Communications Director will continuously review and make recommendations to improve the communication around the above mentioned events and tournaments and will oversee and integrate the Communication Project Plans in order to ensure the requirements of all relevant stakeholders are aligned for each event or competition.
  • He/she is the key point of reference for the Deputy CEO on all Corporate Communications matters and shall actively represent him on different occasions.
  • The Communications Director collaborates with internal and external partners, sharing responsibility with the other divisions to optimise the overall result and proactively find compromises, efficiency measures and synergies with other departments/divisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  •  A minimum experience of 10 years within a Communications role
  • University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education)
  • Experience in international sports / event management
  • Knowledge of even planning and event project management processes
  • Experience or knowledge of local culture will be an added benefit
  • Strong IT skill including MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and other languages are an added benefit
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events.
  •  Minimum of 8 years managing teams within the communications and public affairs
  • Proven management experience of complex projects
  • Specialised qualifications within communications and public affairs
  • Project management certification
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplined teams across a variety of business areas
  • Experience in Tournament management
