The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) in partnership with FIFA recently concluded the 3rd 2015 Grassroots Development Officers Course last April 6-11, 2015 at San Carlos City Negros Occidental.
Hosted by Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) in San Carlos City, the event was participated in by 32 Coaches representing their Provincial Football Associations. Also present in the course were the
Regional Grassroots Development Officers (GDO) and Regional Technical Directors.
FIFA Instructor Samuel Schweingruber (SWISS) led the 5-day course. AFC also sent its Grassroots Officer Mr. Masahiro Sugiyama to present Asian Grassroots Trends. Local instructors present were Mr. Aquilino P. Pastoral III, PFF Grassroots Development Officer, Albert Ryan Lim, Regional Grassroots Development Officer for Mindanao and Alberto B. Honasan, Regional Technical Director and National Youth Teams Director. Coaches from the National Youth Teams U14 Boys – Eliezer Fabroada, and U14 Girls Marnelli Dimzon also attended the activity.
The event was concluded with a Football Festival on April 11, 2015 participated by 380 kids.
The GDO course aims to further enhance Grassroots Development in the country providing a link between players from local communities to the National Youth Teams.
