The Philippines has been drawn to group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016. The team is set to compete with South East Asian powerhouses Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia in the group stage which seeks to qualify only the top two teams of each group. Group B is composed of Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam and the victor of the last slot which will be played for by countries Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, and Timor-Leste in a qualification round from 15-21 October 2016. Group A kicks off on 22 November while Group B starts on the 20 November 2016. The semi-finals, a home-and-away format, is scheduled on 3-8 December while the finals, also a home-and-away format, is on 14-17 December 2016.
