The Philippine Men’s National team will face the mighty Thai squad at 8:00PM at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan today, 25 November 2016. Thailand has already secured a berth in the semifinals after finishing their assignments in Group A.
The Philippines are still in contention to advance to the semifinals of the AFF Suzuki Cup with two possible situations. Should the Philippines overcome Thailand, then they will automatically get a spot in the semifinals. Should they draw with Thailand, then their fate will rest on the outcome of the match between Singapore and Indonesia, which kicks of at the same time in Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
An Indonesian win over Singapore, and a loss of the Philippines against Thailand will mean that Indonesia will go through. Should Indonesia draw Singapore and the Philippines draw Thailand, then the Philippines will earn their spot as group A’s second runner-up, and straight into the semifinals .
