The Philippine Men’s National Team is scheduled to face the national team of China PR on 7 June 2017.
PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes announced last 22 May the details of the friendly which will be played in Guangzhou, China. The friendly will be the first meeting between the Philippines and China PR since the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers in the year 2000. China PR won that match 8-0.
“We will have an international friendly between China PR and Philippines on 7 June,” said Gastanes. “We will now talk to the PFL clubs to explore the possibility of release of players for national team duties earlier than 5 June 2017.”
The match will serve as build up for the Philippines’ AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifiers match against Tajikistan which will be held on 13 June 2017 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The Philippines’ current rank is at 127th while China PR is at 81st.
The list of players called up for the forthcoming matches will be announced shortly.
