The Philippine Men’s Under-22 squad have been drawn to Group B following the 29th Southeast Asia Games draw held last Saturday, 8 July 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Philippines are grouped with defending SEA Games winners Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.
For the Women’s tournament, there was no draw held after it was confirmed that only five teams will participate in the event. The Philippines will face Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
The draw mechanics were revised prior to the draw by the Football Association of Malaysia, Olympic Council of Malaysia, and Malaysia Organizing Committee. The ammendments were approved by the Asian Football Confederation.
The 29th SEA Games football tournament will kick off on 14 August for the Men’s Under-22 tournament and 20 August for the Women’s tournament.
