As head coach of the Vietnam Under-19 National Team, Hoang Anh Tuan steered his side to a maiden appearance in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup 2017 in Korea Republic.
Coach Tuan started as Vietnam U19 head coach in 2015 when he brought the team to a runner up finish in the AFF U19 Championships 2015.
A year later, Tuan steered the Vietnamese side to a third place finish in the same competition a year later and a first place finish in the qualifiers of the AFC Under-19 Championships 2016.
Under Tuan’s mentorship, Vietnam U19 side qualified for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup 2017 after defeating Bahrain, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the AFC Under-19 Championships.
On the first day of the conference, Coach Tuan will discuss Vietnam’s experience in the journey to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup, the strengths, the challenges, and the best practices he has adopted.
