Philippines Football League side Global Cebu FC hope to bounce back from their opening day loss in the AFC Cup as they face Indonesian side Bali United on Tuesday 27 February 2018 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Global endured a narrow 1-0 loss to Vietnamese side FLC Thanh Hoa in their first AFC Cup match at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam last 10 February.
Hosting their first AFC Cup match of the season, Global Cebu head coach Marjo Allado is admits both teams are gunning for the win after Bali United suffered a 3-0 loss to Yangon United in their first match.
“This is a crucial game for both teams,” said Allado. “We have learned from (the first game).”
Global skipper Patrick Deyto relayed his coach’s thoughts and is confident on their new players of stepping up.
“Bali’s loss (to Yangon) is not a definitive conclusion of their strength,” said Deyto. “The new players are hungry to prove themselves. In our last game we fought hard but we’re unlucky. We needed to create more chances.”
