Philippines Football League side Ceres Negros return to the Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium ahead of a crucial AFC Cup Group F match against Myanmar side Shan United on Tuesday 6 March 2018. Kick off is at 7:30 PM.
Ceres started the AFC Cup campaign strong with a 9-0 win over Cambodian side Boeung Ket Angkor on match day 1, but were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Singapore’s Home United last week. The Negros side remain on top of Group F on goal difference.
This will be the second meeting between Ceres Negros and Shan United. Both sides met in the AFC Champions League first preliminary round last 15 January 2018 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. Ceres bested Shan United, 4-3, on penalties after it finished 1-1 in extra time.
Ceres holds a slim lead in Group F with 4 points, level with Home United, but only ahead on goal difference.
Head coach Risto Vidakovic is raring for his players to bounce back in front of the home crowd after the draw last week.
“It’s very important to win this game because we are playing at home,” said Vidakovic. “We cannot lose any point any more especially at home.”
New signing Mike Ott has slowly settled with the team and is relishing to play in front of the home crowd.
“We’re just motivated for the game and every one wants to do their job and win the game,” said Ott.
