With less than a month remaining before the start of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018, the Philippine Women’s National Team’s preparations continue with a training camp at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Currently headed by Fitness Coach Rabah Benlarbi and PFF Women’s Administrator Coordinator Joyce Landagan, the camp is the precursor to the Japan Camp which will serve as the team’s final preparations before they head to Jordan for the tournament which begins on 6 April 2018.
The Philippines are in Group A together with China PR, host Jordan, and Thailand. The top two teams, along with the fifth placed team, will advance to the knockout stage and subsequently qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019.
As the AFC Women’s Asian Cup draws closer, PFF officials look forward to the Philippines Women’s National Team’s bid of a berth in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“Last year, this team made history by qualifying for the Asian Cup, this year we hope to see them qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes.
