Ceres Negros FC claimed their third win in the AFC Cup after defeating Shan United, 1-0, last 14 March 2018 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
It was a hard fought win for the reigning AFC Cup ASEAN Zone champions. Bienvenido Marañon’s 15th minute penalty strike lifted the Negros-based club to put them at 10 points after 4 matches.
Ceres could have scored more goals in the second half but were unable to add to their tally.
“It was very hard for us to play (the match),” said Vidakovic after the match. “We got the three points but we still need to grow. Congratulations to the players for getting the result.”
Match winner Marañon was delighted with scoring the winning goal after missing his penalty in the 1-1 draw against Home United last month.
“You have to be ready, you have to work hard,” said Marañon on his match winning goal.
