Philippine Football Federation officials trust the Philippine Women’s National Team players to play hard and to the best of their abilities in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018 which begins with the match against host Jordan tonight 8:00 PM Jordan time (Saturday 1:00 AM Manila time).
“Tonight will be the culmination of all the hard work and sacrifices the team had to take during the past few months,” said PFF president Mariano Araneta. “This team carries the hopes and dreams of a multitude of our countrymen who yearn to see a Philippine team play in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
“Last year, the Women’s Team qualified for the Women’s Asian Cup in Jordan, this year our Men’s team qualified for the Asian Cup in 2019. We are sure our Women’s team is strongly motivated to again perform well and be one of the 5 teams that will go to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019. Our hopes and prayers are with the team throughout the tournament,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes.
The team is led by head coach Rabah Benlarbi and assisted by Joey Hoffman and Joyce Landagan.
“The team is well prepared and we hope that they can surprise everyone in Jordan,” ended Araneta.
