Ahead of their crucial AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018 match against Thailand, the Philippines Women’s National Team paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Embassy in Jordan on the eve of the match.
Hosted by the Philippine Ambassador to Jordan, Her Excellency Junever Mahilum-West, the team met and interacted with the Embassy staff and members of Filipino community who wished them good luck for Thursday’s (Friday early morning in Manila) match at the King Abdullah II Stadium.
PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes and PFF Women’s Committee chairperson Ms. Lalaine Sarmiento, thanked Ambassadress Mahilum-West for receiving and hosting the Philippine delegation. The players and team officials were treated to simple but welcomed merienda-sena prepared by the embassy staff.
“We thank Ambassador Junever Mahilum-West for the warm welcome of the Philippines Women’s National Team and for supporting the team” said Gastanes.
The ambassador herself, along with members of the Filipino community in Amman, Jordan attended matches of the Philippine team.
The players and team officials left the embassy smiling and in high spirit.
