The Philippines Girls Under-16 Football Team is excited to compete in the AFF Girls’ Under-16 Championship which begins on 1 May 2018 in Palembang, Indonesia.
The Philippines is in Group A and will face Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Vietnam in the group stage. The team arrived in Palembang in the morning of 30 April 2018.
Last year in Vientiane, Laos, the Philippines Girls Under-15 Team clinched a silver medal finish after yielding to Thailand in the final.
The team trained at the PFF National Training Centre in the San Lazaro Leisure Park, Carmona, Cavite and at De La Salle Santiago Zobel school in Alabang, Muntinlupa. The team also conducted friendly matches at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

The head coach is former Philippines Women’s National Team captain Marielle Benitez. She is assisted by former Philippines national team players Isabella Fernando and Eleonora Dillera. Former Women’s National Team head coach Letecia “Buda” Bautista is the Technical Advisor and PFF Women’s Committee Chairperson Ms. Lalaine Sarmiento is the Head of Delegation.
“We wish the Philippines Girls Under-16 team the best of luck as they look to claim a podium finish in this year’s AFF Girls’ Under-16 Championship,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “In the Girls Under-15 tournament last year, the team had a silver-medal finish. This year we hope the team can improve on it.”
