The Philippine Women’s National Team claimed their first win in the AFF Women’s Championship after a 3-0 victory over Singapore last Tuesday at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Palembang, Indonesia.
Joyce Semacio made the most out of her first international start for the country. The forward scored the opening goal in the 4th minute.
An Singapore own goal in the 65th minute put the Philippines in the driver’s seat before Quinley Quezada wrapped things up with her first international goal in the 80th minute.
The win handed the team’s first three points of the tournament after losing to Myanmar in the opening fixture last Saturday.
The Philippines will face Vietnam on Saturday 7 July 2018.
