The Philippine Men’s National Team drew Bahrain, 1-1, last Thursday 6 September 2018 (Friday morning in Manila) in a FIFA International Friendly Match at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa, Bahrain.
The match was the team’s first foray in preparation for both the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 this November and the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 in January 2019.
Phil Younghusband netted his 51st international goal after he was fouled in the box in the 49th minute.
The Philippines almost claimed the win, but Bahrain found a deserved equalizer right before full-time to end the match at 1-1.
It was the first competitive match for newly appointed head coach Scott Cooper. The team will continue with their training camp in Bahrain before flying back to Manila next week.
