Hiraya FC and De La Salle University posted contrasting wins in Satuday’s action in the PFF Women’s League last October 27 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
In the first match, Hiraya FC moved from sixth to third in the table after blanking University of the Philippines 9-0.
It took Hiraya fourteen minutes to open the scoring, when Bianca Cabalan headed Natasha Alquiros’ corner kick into her own net.
Erika Casas followed it up with a brace, finding the net in the 24th and the 32nd minutes. Vanessa Fabon took over by scoring a pair of goals in the 33rd and the 45th minute to put Hiraya FC ahead 5-0 at half-time.
Richelle Placencia added one more in the 51st minute, before Natasha Alquiros scored in the 58th minute to make it 7-0 for Hiraya before the hour mark.
Alquiros completed her brace in the 81st minue, with Fabon scored one more in the 83rd minute for a hat-trick.
In the second match, La Salle solidified their hold in second place after surviving a late scare with a 2-1 win over Green Archers United FC.
Rocelle Meñdano opened the scoring for the Lady Archers in the 12th minute with her right footed shot just inside the box.
Meñdano double the lead in the 44th minute, when she goes past three GAU defenders and shoots the ball into the top left corner past Kayla Santiago.
However, GAU pulled one back thru Maria Lourdes Layacan in the 67th minute after scoring from inside the box.
But La Salle’s defence held firm the rest of the way, closing in the gap between them and leaders UST to just two points with their sixth win of the season.
