The Philippine Men’s National Team look to build on their first win in the AFF Suzuki Cup when they play Timor Leste tonight at 8:00 PM at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Coming off a 1-0 win over Singapore last Tuesday, the Azkals need to get the three points to strengthen their chances of finishing inside the top two in Group B.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Azkals head coach Sven-Goran Eriksson stressed the importance of the match.
“We won’t take anything for granted. Timor Leste had a very, very difficult start to the tournament, but in their second game against Indonesia, they did well and scored the first goal,” said Eriksson. “We’ll focus on the match tomorrow and not yet think about what happens after Suzuki Cup”
Timor Leste are winless in their last two games, but can pose a threat after almost giving Indonesia a scare in their 3-1 loss last Tuesday.
“We started well in the tournament, good result and three points. We have to play very well,” added the Swede.
