Goals from Wu Lei from either half and Yu Dabao gave the Chinese side their second win, and at the same time handed the Philippines a second successive defeat in the competition.
Javier Patiño almost fired the Philippines ahead in the 23rd minute. A neat counter-attack from Patrick Strauss and Patrick Reichelt saw the forward free in the box for the shot, but his effort was blocked.
Wu struck the opener in the 40th minute. The Chinese forward was left open in the box and allowed him to fire a shot past Michael Falkesgaard.
The Philippines almost drew level before half-time. Kevin Ingreso’s volleyed effort was tipped over by Yan Junling to maintain the 1-0 Chinese lead at the half.
The second half saw Wu once again finding the back of the net in the 66th minute and Yu adding a third goal in the 80th minute.
The Philippines remained at the bottom of Group C with two losses. However, team still has a slim chance of qualifying to the knockout stages as one of the four best third placed teams.
The Philippines face Kyrgyz Republic in their final Group C match on Wednesday 16 January 2019 at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
