The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) conducted its first Board of Governors meeting for 2019 last 9 February 2019 at the PFF House of Football in Pasig City.
The board received the report of the national team’s committee on the major competition results from November 2018 until January 2019 which included the Men’s National Team’s recent participation in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 last November 2018, and in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 last January 2019 in United Arab Emirates. Men’s National Team consultant Scott Cooper also briefed the board with the Men’s National Team plans for 2019.
The Women’s National Team’s successful stint in the 2020 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament – Asian Qualifiers Round 1 last November 2018 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan was also discussed
The importance and benefits of the conferment by the AFC of the AFC Coaching Convention – A Diploma Level Membership to the PFF was also discussed. The recognition allows the PFF, as a member of the AFC Coaching Convention, to offer and conduct its own ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Courses, under the auspices of the AFC Coaching Convention, up to the equivalent of AFC ‘A’ Level beginning 2019.
On PFF membership, the board decided to declare Cagayan De Oro – Misamis Oriental FA to have ceased to exist as a member of PFF for its failure to adopt and ratify a new set of compliant statutes which is a mandatory requirement of membership to PFF and refusal to comply with PFF directives.
