The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) offers its congratulations to Atty. Guillermo Iroy, Jr. following approval by AFC Congress of his nomination as one of 10 members in the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee during the AFC Extraordinary Congress held on 04 June 2019 in Paris, France.
Atty. Iroy, who will serve for a period of four (4) years, was nominated by PFF.
The AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee is the independent judicial body authorized to sanction any breach of AFC regulations which does not come under the jurisdiction of another body. The chairperson of the committee is lawyer Lim Kia Tong, president of Football Association Singapore.
Atty. Iroy is a former football national team player, the current chairperson of the Philippines Football League (PFL) Disciplinary Committee, and member of the Ad-Hoc ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Disciplinary and Ethics Committee. He is the Deputy Executive Director of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
“We congratulate Atty. Guillermo Iroy for his designation to the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee,” said FIFA Council member and PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr.
“His valuable experience in upholding discipline and integrity in sports in the Philippine setting will benefit Asian football”, added PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes.
