Philippines Football League (PFL) Commissioner Mikhail Torre will meet with the management of Global FC to discuss the allegations raised against the club.
Global FC, which was one of the initial eight licensed clubs of the PFL, has been competing in the league for the past three seasons. Their best finish was a runners up finish back in 2017. The club also represented the country internationally in the AFC Cup in 2017 and 2018 and the Singapore Cup in 2017 where they finished as runners up.
However, there are allegations that the club has incurred delay in its financial obligations to its players and staff.
“Players’ welfare is important to the growth of a professional club and of the league,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “The club must address the issues raised.”
“Our aim is to ascertain the current situation of the club and discuss with club management the actions they are taking” added Torre.
