In preparation for the start of the PFF Coaching Certificate Courses for this year, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) conducted the PFF Instructors’ Course from 18-30 March 2021 via an online webinar.
As one of the few AFC Member Associations to be conferred with the AFC Coaching Convention – ‘A’ Level Membership, PFF aims to strengthen its pool of coaching instructors nationwide through this instructors’ course.
The course instructor was Mr. Marlon Maro. The course was attended by 23 participants and four (4) observers over the past 13 days.
“We have noticed how the knowledge was shared between the participants and the speakers,” said Maro. “The way the participants dealt with the scenarios presented provided a good outlook in their future career as coaching educators.”
Topics presented during the course include the current trends in coaching education globally, the content review of the Philippine Youth Coaching Certificate (PYCC) courses, the AFC’s direction on the ‘C’ level, the PFF Child Safeguarding Programme, and the MyPFF Online Registration System.
“I was glad to have attended this Instructors’ Course,” said John Paul Merida. “The knowledge we gained from this course will serve as a guide when we develop the next generation of coaches.”
“It was very evident that we have to take the initiative and grasp the ideas from our mentors and coaches,” added Michael Agbayani. “It’s important for us to absorb and take the learnings by heart for the continuous improvement of football.”
Resource speakers from FIFA, Japan Football Association (JFA), and the Ekkono Soccer Services Barcelona were also invited to provide valuable insights for the benefit of the participants.
