Kaya FC-Iloilo were unable to convert their chances as Vietnamese side Viettel FC dealt a 0-5 loss to the Filipino side in the AFC Champions League Group F last Tuesday 29 June 2021 at the Pathum Thani Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
It was Kaya’s second loss in the competition after yielding to BG Pathum United last Saturday putting them in last place in Group F.
Viettel had a blistering start to the match. The Vietnamese side scored twice in the opening ten minutes to take a 2-0 lead at the half.
The second half saw Kaya get close on a couple of chances to reduce the deficit, but Viettel proved to be the better side by scoring three more goals in the second half to complete the rout.
Kaya will face reigning AFC Champions League winners Ulsan Hyundai on Friday, 02 July 2021.
