In their foray against the defending AFC Champions League winners, Kaya FC-Iloilo fought a courageous effort against Ulsan Hyundai in a 0-3 loss last Friday, 02 July 2021 at the Pathum Thani Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Kaya started the match strong. Japanese midfielder Daizo Horikoshi came close to giving Kaya the early lead in the first minute from a Kenshiro Daniels corner.
Ulsan Hyundai, however, stamped their class in the match with three goals in the 12th, 40th, and 48th minutes to claim the three points.
Despite the 3-0 lead, Kaya still put up a fight against the defending champions with Daniels getting two chances on goal, and the defense for denying a fourth goal.
The two Group F sides will meet again on Monday, 05 July 2021
