CAM PHA – The Philippine Women’s National Team yielded to hosts Vietnam, 1-2, in their Group A clash in the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Wednesday 11 May 2022 at the Cam Pha Stadium.
It was the Philippines’ first loss in the competition after defeating Cambodia, 5-0, last Monday, 09 May 2022
Tahnai Annis’ 15th minute header was not enough to lift the Filipinas past its fellow FIFA Women’s World Cup debutants as Vietnam was able to score in the 38th and 50th minutes to claim the three points.
The result leaves the Coach Alen Stajcic’s side, which currently has three points and a +3 goal differential, having to wait for the result of the Cambodia vs. Vietnam match on Saturday to determine their place in the semifinal.
