The second day of Regional Groups E and F matches in the PFF U19 Boys National Championship Second Division all saw two teams from each group trying to battle their way for a spot in the National Group Stage last Monday 20 June 2022.
Group E
Central Visayas FA 2-1 Negros Oriental-Siquijor RFA
Central Visayas FA moved closer to a spot to the National Group Stage after a tightly contested 2-1 win over Negros Oriental-Siquijor RFA in the first match at the Cebu City Sports Center in Cebu City.
Keenen Cergeux handed CVFA the lead in the 28th minute, NOSIRFA’s Efren Insertado drew level in the 45th minute to keep the scores level at 1-1.
Substitute Paul Mapula settled the tie with a 73rd minute winner to push CVFA to six points with one match to go.
Eastern Visayas RFA 0-2 Kaya FC-Iloilo
Kaya FC-Iloilo banked on two late goals to defeat Eastern Visayas RFA in the second Group E match.
The match was scoreless up until the final five minutes when Mauro Tan opened the scoring for Kaya. Fellow substitute Marco Perez clinched the victory with the second goal in the 88th minute to setup a deciding match against Central Visayas FA on Wednesday.
Group F
Pagadian-Zamboanga del Sur-Sibugay RFA 2-2 Iligan-Lanao RFA
Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi FA 3-1 Misamis Occidental-Ozamis FA
Group F saw hosts Iligan-Lanao RFA draw Pagadian-Zamboanga del Sur-Sibugay RFA, 2-2, in the first match at the Mindanao Civic Center in Lanao del Norte.
Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi Tawi claimed the three points over Misamis Occidental-Ozamis FA after a 3-1 win in the second match.
Both PAZSSRFA and ZAMBASULTA go to the final day of the group stage on four points each while MOOFA are right behind them in third place with two points.
The teams from Groups E and F will close out their campaign on Wednesday 22 June 2022 with only one team from each group advancing to the National Group Stage.
Meanwhile, Group H which is composed of Bukidnon FA, Maguindanao RFA, Sultan Kudarat, RFA, Golden Davao RFA, and North Davao RFA will commence the group stage on Wednesday.
