Two more teams in Central Visayas FA and Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi FA secured their place in PFF U19 Boys National Championship – Division 2 National Group Stage following the conclusion of Group E and Group F, while Group H teams began their campaign Wednesday 22 June 2022.
Group E
Negros Oriental-Siquijor RFA 3-0 Eastern Visayas RFA
NOSIRFA concluded their Group E campaign with a 3-0 win over Eastern Visayas RFA in the first match at the Cebu City Sports Center in Cebu City.
Second half goals from Christian Lajot (65’), Earl Bandoquillo (83’), and Rafael Wandeller (88’) handed the Negros Oriental side the three points to finish in third place.
Central Visayas FA 3-1 Kaya FC-Iloilo
Central Visayas FA mounted on a strong first half performance to seal their place to the National Group Stage at the expense of Kaya FC-Iloilo, in a 3-1 win in the second game.
Keenan Cergeux broke the deadlock in the opening seven minutes of the match before Yoji Selman (43’) and Paul Mapula (45’) added two quick fire goals towards the end of the first half to give Central Visayas a 3-0 lead at the half.
Kaya’s Julian Romero reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute, but all hopes of a comeback was dashed as Central Visayas booked their place to the next round as group winners.
Group F
Pagadian–Zamboanga del Sur–Sibugay RFA 0-2 Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi FA
Iligan Lanao RFA 3-1 Misamis Oriental-Ozamis FA
ZAMBASULTA confirmed their place to the National Group Stage as Group F winners following a 2-0 win over PAZSSRFA.
The other match saw Iligan Lanao RFA close out their Group F campaign with a 3-1 win over MOOFA.
Group H
Sultan Kudarat RFA 0-0 Maguindanao RFA
North Davao RFA 2-2 Golden Davao RFA
The five-team Group H kicked off the festivities at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
North Davao RFA and GODARFA shared the points after a 2-2 draw in their encounter. Jed Barrete scored first for GODARFA in the fifth minute, but North Davao’s McJay Neniel equalized in the 26th minute.
Justine Marquez restored GODARFA’s lead in the 37th minute, but Mico Manliguez ensured the draw with a late equalizer in the 84th minute.
The other Group H match saw Sultan Kudarat RFA and Maguindanao RFA battle it out to a 0-0 stalemate.
