The Philippine Men’s Under-19 National Team heightened their preparations for the AFF U19 Boys Championship 2022 with a training camp at the University of Makati Football Stadium, coupled with several friendly matches against select teams.
Coached by Christopher Pedimonte, the U19 side recently played against Guam Under-20 National Team, which is also in the Philippines for a training camp in preparation for the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers this September.
Cyrelle Saut scored two goals in the win while Harry James Nuñez, and Andres Aldeguer added a goal each for the Philippines in a 4-1 win over Guam.
“The preparation has been good so far, and the players are in good shape as they learn the game model,” said Pedimonte after the friendly. “It was a positive result and we want to build on that result, but there are things that we still have to work on.”
The Philippines are in Group A for the AFF U19 Boys Championship alongside host Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, and Brunei Darussalam.
