The Philippine Football Federation Congress voted to amend its statutes to allow for the increase of its Member Associations during the PFF Extraordinary Congress held Saturday morning, 12 November 2022, in Manila.
The expansion is in-line with the federation’s efforts to have football reach wider areas in the country. The amendment was also recommended by FIFA and AFC, to make football in the country more inclusive.
PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr. hailed the decision of the body as the decision that exhibited unity of PFF members in intensifying the promotion and development of football in the country.
“Our goal is for PFF to be recognized as a topnotch federation that puts importance on good governance and is forward-looking,” said Araneta. “We are all in the positions we are in now because the stakeholders of football in the country trust us to make the right decisions for the future of Philippine football.”
