Ateneo de Manila University banked on two goals from Joyce Semacio to claim a 4-1 win over the debuting Stallion Laguna FC in the PFF Women’s Cup 2022 action at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite last Sunday 06 November 2022.
Semacio opened the proceedings with a 35th minute opener, but Stallion Laguna’s Saichiko Benjamin drew level in the 41st minute.
However, an own goal from Abigail Corvera restored Ateneo’s lead at the hour mark before Semacio netted her brace. Soleil Schroth added gloss to the scoreline with Ateneo’s fourth goal in the 86th minute.
Tuloy FC also broke into the win column after a come from behind 2-1 win over the University of Santo Tomas in the second match.
Louraine Evangelista had an opening match to remember as her quick fire double in the 61st and 66th minutes saw Tuloy complete the turnaround against UST, which took the lead from a Nathalie Absalon effort in the 44th minute of the match.
