The University of Santo Tomas broke their slump after a tight 2-1 win over Ateneo de Manila University last Saturday in the PFF Women’s Cup.
Nathalie Absalon’s 64th minute winner sealed the match for UST, which lost its first three matches of the season while Ateneo has lost its four straight matches.
Gleydile Añonuevo had put UST ahead in the 17th minute but Joyce Semacio equalized in the 54th minute for Ateneo setting up the stage for Absalon’s match winner.
Louraine Evangelista continued her rampant form with another hat-trick performance as Tuloy FC inflicted a 7-1 win over Azzurri SC in Saturday’s first match.
Evangelista netted in the eight, 14th, and 86th minutes with Demelyn Rollon (25’), Jenny Perez (39’, 56’), and Jonalyn Lucban (44’) all delivering for Tuloy.
Azzurri scored a consolation goal from substitute Jacqueline Ballares in the 81st minute.
