Grassroots football in the communities marked its return with the conduct of the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) Festival of Football (FOF) this month.
Central Bicol RFA (14-15 January 2023 at Freedom Stadium Complex in San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur) and Negros Oriental-Siquijor RFA (21-22 January 2023 at Talay Football Field in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental) hosted the FOFs for girls and boys players ages 12 to 16 with other areas also set to conduct FOFs within the coming weeks.
The FOF is a venue where young players are identified and scouted for the Training Area of Development (TAD) Youth Development Program and the Youth National Teams.
This program is supported by the Japan Football Association for youth players talent identification and development in the country.
